NewTek Ships LightWave 3D for Windows

April 9, 1995, NABNewTek Inc., creator of the popular Video Toaster desktop video system, today announced that LightWave 3D for Windows and Windows NT, on Intel, DEC Alpha, and MIPS systems will begin shipping on Wednesday, April 11, 1995. LightWave 3D for Windows is priced at $995.00.

LightWave has one of the largest established user bases of any 3D package, with tens of thousands of systems in place today. It has been used on TV shows such as seaQuest DSV, Babylon 5, Star Trek: Voyager, Robocop, Viper, Unsolved Mysteries, and Weird Science to produce the final "on air" effects. Chief among the new features:
Plug-in software architecture that will allow third-party developers and programmers to write their own special-purpose mini-applications that run within LightWave.

LightWave sports full cross-compatibility of its support files. This allows LightWave users to bring scenes, objects, textures and other related files from one platform to another without the hassle of format conversion. Our customers love LightWave's interface, says Peebler. Cross-platform compatibility means that a user can sit down at any computer and be able to use LightWave.

NewTek will be demonstrating LightWave 3D and the Video Toaster for Windows April 10-13 in the Las Vegas Convention Center Booth #15171 and in the Video Toaster User Pavilion in the Multimedia hall.
